FFELP STAFFORD LOANS
This lender list was determined by a committee which chose these lenders based on benefits for the students. Due to recent federal legislation, the benefits are identical at the present time. These lenders have a history of lending to CMA students.
Recent legislation demands that the following take place for all FFELP loans:
- All of these lenders except for Bank of America have .25% interest rate reduction for auto-debit on repayment of the loans. Bank of America has .25% interest rate reduction based on having a Bank of America account.
- All of the lenders charge 1% in Origination Fee;
the guarantor charges 1% default fee.
- This means that 2% will be deducted from all borrowed amounts before the funds arrive at Cal Maritime.
