CMA Foundation Scholarship Application
All current students at Cal Maritime are
encouraged to apply for scholarships for
continuing students. These are CMA Foundation Scholarships, provided by alumni and friends of Cal Maritime.
For the 2008-2009 academic year, more than one hundred fifty Cal Maritime cadets applied for the CMA Foundation Scholarships. The scholarship plans to notify each of those who applied before the end of March.

FOR NEW STUDENTS: Scholarships for First Time
Freshmen
All first-time freshmen students are
automatically considered for Cal
Maritime scholarships before they enroll by the Office of Admission; no separate applications
are necessary. These scholarships include Futures Scholars, a few Athletic Scholarships, and the WUE for out-of state students.
If you are from a western state other
than California, you may be eligible for
a WUE (Western Educational Exchange)
Scholarship. For this scholarship,
students must apply to Cal Maritime
during the priority-filing period of
October 1 to November 30. No separate application
is necessary. Winners are notified in
their acceptance letters (mid-January).
California Maritime awards the
The Captain David Lyman Scholarship annually to a student from Hawaii. This year's awardee has already been chosen by the Lyman Scholarship committee.

Other Scholarships
Students are also encouraged to apply for
scholarships from community
organizations and Web sites like
www.fastweb.com. Please remember never to pay to apply for a scholarship.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students of Latino heritage.
American Society of Naval Engineers has scholarships annually for engineers.
The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers annually awards scholarships for engineers.
The Rodney T. Mathews, Jr. Memorial Scholarship for California Indians will provide four awards of $10,000 each to support California Indians who want to contunue their education. The deadline for 2008-2009 is April 1, 2008.
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals is requesting applications by April 15, 2008, for a $2,000 scholarship for 2008-2009 and/or a sponsorship to the Annual CSCMP Global Conference in Denver in October, 2008.
