Ethics and Conflict of Interest Training

All California State University (CSU) employees in designated positions who, as a result of the CSU Conflict of Interest (COI) code, are required to file a Form 700 (Statement of Economic Interests), must complete a comprehensive ethics regulations and conflict of interest code training program. Training must be completed within six months of appointment in a designated position, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment in a designated position.

The approximately two-hour online training program includes: a working terminology for conflict of interest; understanding the Political Reform Act of 1974; evaluating your economic interests; analyzing potential conflicts; contractual conflict and incompatible activities; and getting your questions answered.

Participants are required to print and submit the completion certificate to the campus COI filing officer within five days of completing the training. Access to the training is available at http://www.thesource.calstate.edu/conflict_of_interest_training.shtml.
