Migrating To Moodle From WebCT
There are currently three ways to deal with your existing WebCT Data. You can:
- Only Download Your Content (word docs, pdf, powerpoints, etc.)
- Download Your WebCT Gradebook
- Archive Your Entire WebCT Course
Downloading Content Only From WebCT
Any content you previously uploaded into your WebCT course can be exported out of WebCT and saved on your computer or flash drive as a Zip file. This would be your PowerPoints, Word Documents, PDF files, Images, Movies and the such. These files can then be uploaded to Moodle and linked as you structure your course.

Downloading Your WebCT Gradebook
If you need a record of just your course grades, you can download the WebCT gradebook. This gradebook can be viewed in Microsoft Excel.
Archiving Your Entire WebCT Course
WebCT stores course information in the form of a ZIP (compressed file). This is also called a backup file. A course backup contains all your course material plus student information. A backup file can serve as a record of the student coursework/communications. This information should be considered confidental.
Please note you can only view this backup file in WebCT !
