Dr. Herman Lujan

President for Academic Affairs
Dr.
Herman Lujan has assumed his post as Cal
Maritime launches a nationwide search
for a new Provost and Academic Vice
President. He brings to this
position extensive experience in higher
education administration, most recently
in a similar post-retirement interim
slot at Cal Poly. Prior to his
retirement, he was Provost and Vice
Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the
California State University at Los
Angeles. A graduate of St. Mary's
College in California in 1958, he also
holds as Masters in Political Science
from UCal Berkeley (1960), and a
Doctorate in Political Science from the
University of Idaho (1964) He has
served for over 30 years in
administration in Kansas as a department
chair, Washington as a Vice Provost,
Colorado as a President and Connecticut
as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
