Watch Information -
General
Watch Exchange
Forms: Once the
watch exchange form has
been approved,
the following is the
proper routing:
Pink: Cadet filling out
the Watch Exchange Form
Yellow: Cadet assuming
the watch
White: Deck watches - Quarterdeck
Engine watches - EOS
Campus watches - CDO office
Campus watches may be filled by cadets of any major. Cadets may be assigned the campus watch of the same level as their other watch qualification (ie. A CWO can stand the ACDO watch).
CDO Watches: CDO
watch is a 24-hour watch
commencing with relief
at 0745 in the Corps
Office. The 0745 watch
relief is for both the
ongoing and off-going
CDO.
Scheduled Classes vs.
Watch: Since
scheduled classes and
watches are mandatory,
Division Executive
Officers are required to
work the watch schedule
around your class
schedules. However, it
is your responsibility
to ensure your Division
Executive Officer knows
if there is a conflict
between a scheduled
class and watch.
In the case of the
Meteorology Class where
ALL 2/c Deck cadets are
required to attend, a
waiver has been granted
in order for the CWO
watch to be filled by
the N/M until the 2/c
returns to the ship from
class.
Work vs. Watch: The Division Commanders
and Executive Officers
have been very
accommodating in
trying to schedule
watches around
everyone’s limitations,
however, they can’t
please everyone. Work is
not an authorized excuse
to miss watch.
If you are scheduled for a
watch that conflicts
with work,
you need to fill out a
watch exchange form to
cover the watch. As a
head’s up, the further
in advance for next
semester that you can
let your Division CO and
XO know of conflicts,
the better the chance
that they may be able to
accommodate you. |
