Global Studies and Maritime Affairs

The Department of Global and Maritime Studies offers the major in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs and programs in Maritime History, Maritime Policy, and Writing and Communications.  In addition, the department provides students with CSU-mandated breadth and depth in Critical Thinking, Humanities, and Social Sciences.  GMS strives to include "all things Maritime" in its courses and programs to enhance student understanding of the role the maritime world plays--and has played--in the history, literature arts, politics, economics, and cultures of human society.
