Faculty Development
Welcome to the Faculty Development website! The purpose of faculty development funds is to support faculty in their research, scholarship, creativity, and professional development.
There are mulltiple types of funds available for faculty development activities. In brief, the types of funds are:
- Mini-grants for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (RSCA - Chancellor's Office) - not available in 2009/2010
- Mission Achievement Grants (President's Office), max of $3,500, deadlines: Dec. 8 for spring activities and Feb. 15 for summer activities
- VPAA's Presentation Support Fund (Provost/VPAA Office), max of $500, not available in 2009/2010
- Sabbaticals - see Sabbatical Leave Information under Faculty Affairs under Academic Affairs, not available in 2009/2010
- Faculty Development Funds - In the fall, these funds are available from each academic department, and in the spring, the remaining funds are combined and accessed via the Faculty Development Committee
- James F. Drahos Memorial Fund - approximately $1,500 available for maritime related professional development
