Cal Maritime accepts applicants for the fall semester only. The application priority period is October 1 Through November 30 though, in a typical year, majors remain open beyond those dates. Each majors closes when it is full. All applicants must apply online, and must declare a major
before they will be admitted to Cal Maritime. There are no impacted
programs at Cal Maritime. All applicants who are academically qualified
will be admitted if the major remains open based on what is listed below..
- For all of our majors, high school students (freshmen) from California may no longer apply.
- Here is the list of who may still apply to each of our six majors:
Business Administration - Who can still apply?..... Freshmen from outside California and all college transfer students (any location) with more than 60 semester units but less than a full Baccalaureate degree..
Facilities Engineering Technology - Who can still apply?......Freshmen from outside California, all college transfer students (any location or number of units), and students with a Baccalaureate degree in any field (any location).
Global Studies and Maritime Affairs - Who can still apply?..... Freshmen from outside California and all college transfer students (any location) with more than 60 semester units but less than a full Baccalaureate degree.
Marine Engineering Technology - Who can still apply?......Freshmen from outside California, all college transfer students (any location or number of units), and students with Baccalaureate degree in any field (any location).
Marine Transportation - No longer accepting applications for fall 2008
Mechanical Engineering - Who can still apply?......Freshmen from outside California, all college transfer students (any location or number of units), and students with a Baccalaureate degree in any field (any location).

Applicants
First-time freshmen are
encouraged to apply
within the CSU Priority period
of October 1st-November 30th of
their senior year of high
school. Applicants after the CSU
Priority period may not be
eligible for certain
scholarships. Applicants must be
prepared to submit
high school grades and official
SAT
or ACT scores.

Transfer
Applicants
Applicants who have graduated
from high school and have
completed any college coursework
are considered transfer
students. All transfer students
must submit transcripts from any
colleges and universities that
they have attended in addition
to their application for
admission.

Adult Students
Applicants are considered Adult
students by the CSU if they are
over the age of 25 and have not
taken any college coursework
full-time for more than one
academic term in the last five
years. Adult student applicants
may need to complete a brief
interview in addition to their
application for admission.

Veterans
Veterans who are not eligible
for admission as first-time
freshmen, transfer students, or
adult students may be eligible
for admission based on their
veteran status. Veteran students
may need to complete a brief
interview in addition to their
application for admission.
