The Department of Global & Maritime Studies offers the major in Global Studies & Maritime Affairs, and programs in Maritime History, Maritime Policy, Communications and Literature.  In addition, the department provides students with CSU-mandated breadth and depth in critical thinking, humanities, and social sciences.  GMS strives to include "Maritime Across the Curriculum" (MAC) in its courses and programs, in order to enhance student understanding of the role the maritime world plays--and has played--in the history, literature, arts, politics, economics, and cultures of human society.
