Turnitin is a comprehensive plagiarism prevention system that lets instructors quickly and effectively check a students work.

Getting Started For Faculty
Registering
Go to Turnitin.com
Select login
Enter in username and password.
- If you do not have an account, Click the New Users tab. Select user type of Instructor. You will need to get an initial account/class ID and join password. Follow the steps below:

Select the Academic Software icon. You will see a link to Turnitin

- If you already have an existing account but forgot your password, select the Forgot Your Password link.
On the Account and Classes screen, from the toolbar select user type instructor.

You should see all your existing classes.
Adding a Class
If you would like to Add a Class, select the Add a Class Buttion.
In order for student to access your class, you will need to give them give them Class ID and the Enrollment Password.
- The Class ID is under the class ID column for that class.
- To get the Enrollment Password select the Edit button for that class.

Creating a Assigment
Select the desired class from your class list. You will see the assigments sreen.

Click the Add Assignment button and fill out the Start, Due and Post date for the paper.
Adding Students to Your Class
Students can be added to a course by two ways:Students Self Enroll
- Point students to the turnitin website and instruct them to create an account with their csum email.
- Give them the class id and enrollment id.
- They will be automatically added to your course and can upload submissions.
Instructor Enrolls Students
- Once in your course, select Students from the left menu bar.
- You can add students one-by-one by selecting the add student button or you can import a list of students. If you import a list you must use this specific list format
Getting Started for Students
Go to turnitn.com
Select login
Enter in username and password.
- If you do not have an account, Click the New Users tab.
- If you already have an existing account but forgot your password, select the Forgot Your Password link.
On the Account and Classes screen, from the toolbar select user type of Student..
Once logged in you will see your active enrolled classes listed.
Adding a Class
If you do not see your desired class, you can add it by selecting Enroll in a Class on the left menu bar. You must first receive the Class Id and Enrollment Password from your instructor.
Submitting an Assignment
Select your class from the list. Next you should see your assigment. If the assigment is still active click on the Submit button to upload your document.
