Good news for aspiring celestial cadets and sun bathers! We can expect fair-weather for the next few days as we transit south towards Zihuantanejo. The seas and winds will remain calm helping push us closer to liberty time. Temperatures will continue to climb into the 70’s as the cloud cover should be minimal. This weekend we should expect an increase of tropical clouds approaching from the south bringing the possibility of widely scattered thunderstorms as we move into a more tropical climate. Keep those sextants out of the box. Buenos Noches. Meteorologists: Eric Stenderup and Mat Lawlor

Cadet meteorologist Eric Stenderup noticing the appearance of high level cirrus clouds streaming off an area of tropical convergence several hundred miles to the south. A mariner's  careful observation and understanding cloud progression can provide clues to impending changes in the weather.
