Weather Info

DATE: May 17, 2006

Aaaargh! Currently there are no weather warnings for our area. As we head south we will be increasingly cooled by air moving up from the far South Pacific and further cooled by the Peru Current. Ready for long pants and jackets? Yep we are heading into South America’s autumn. The swell that is off our stbd. bow will continue for the next several days, and most likely all the way to Chile, at about 12 ft. or less with a nice long 12 sec. period. Winds will be at 20 kts. or less with the occasional gusts around 25 kts. For celestial, it looks good for the next day or so. However, the latest GOES visible satellite image shows extensive marine overcast hanging a couple of hundred miles off the coast. The overcast is akin to what we saw off the coast of Baja. Aaaargh!
