Cocos Island Exploration

Even the Chief Engineer, Bill Davidson, was able to get in his kayak to explore the bay.

It is said that many notorious pirates such as Edward Davis, Benito Bonito, William Thompson and even Sir Francis Drake sailed to the island to hide and bury their bounty in the jungle.

Assistant Commandant Mike Kazek fittingly swims to shore (followed by a fast rescue boat just to be safe) through the coral reef covered Chatham Bay.

The Golden Bear with Cocos Island behind it who hosts a variety of birds including frigate birds, sea eagles and boobies.

While sailing away from Cocos Island Cadet Craig Jacobsen serenades the helo deck with his sax.

Cadets Leila May Barangan and Jennifer Wadsworth
