Those who were up by
6:15 were greeted by this sunrise |
| Safety of the ship and
crew is a prime concern. While in port in Callao,
Peru a coordination drill was held with the local fire
department |
| International connections
were used between the fire departments hoses and those
of the Golden Bear |
| Another fire DRILL was
held at sea. This time with a crew member as the
simulated victim. The cadet fire fighters had to
locate the victim and move him to a place of safety. |
| The simulation required
the cadets to act differently depending on the
conditions they found. In this case the sign
indicated that they were in an area of heavy smoke. |
| Mick Bowlin is
a very experienced simulated "victim" Here he is
being carried to a place of safety where he can receive
medical attention. |
| Maintenance work continues
through out the day. |
There is a noticeable
change in the temperature!! |
Work continues in the
machine shop, where it is warm all the time. |
