Visiting and Exchange Programs
Visiting Scholars:
Teaching/Research Opportunities
In
this spirit of global awareness, a
cornerstone of Cal Maritime's mission,
we have established formal exchange
agreements with several maritime
universities (current
list). We welcome
applications from scholars at these
universities who wish to discuss
mutually beneficial opportunities for
teaching and research.
Inviting and/or
accepting a visiting scholar to
The California Maritime Academy involves two
steps. First, the potential visiting scholar's interests
must be matched to the needs of an
academic department. If there is a
match, the
second step is to obtain all the
information necessary to complete a
DS-2019 form (the initiation of the visa
application process).
It is the
collective decision of the Department
Chair and of the Academic Dean to
invite a visiting scholar. Please
note that no formal invitation can be made until all of the
procedures outlined in the document below have been
followed. The formal invitation
letter comes from the Academic Dean.
