Global awareness comprises one of the cornerstones of the mission of Cal Maritime, and this objective is met in numerous ways.  Studies in globalization and the knowledge of other peoples and places are taught in a variety of courses and the Training Ship Golden Bear offers cadets the opportunity to visit different countries across the Pacific Rim, and there exist channels by which cadets may pursue their academic interests at universities around the world. 

At present, study-abroad opportunities for Cal Maritime cadets emanate from two different sources:  participation in the California State University (CSU) International Program, affiliated with over 50 different universities in 18 countries; and partnerships with other maritime universities through memoranda establishing an exchange program.  More information on these different tracks to study abroad can be found in the following links:
