Information for Graduating Master's Degree Students

Congratulations! You have entered the homestretch on your graduate program! Upon successful completion of all 10 courses and your Capstone Committee’s acceptance of your Capstone project, you will be eligible to walk the stage and be awarded your Master’s degree diploma! This will be an historic event for the graduate program’s first graduating class. I look forward to seeing you there!

The commencement ceremony will be held at the California Maritime Academy campus in Vallejo on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Individuals who intend to participate in the ceremony are required to be at the campus on Friday, May 10^th for a mandatory rehearsal. Commencement Rehearsal is scheduled for 2:00-4:00 in Rizza Auditorium and in the Commencement tent. A full description of the items covered at rehearsal can be found on the rehearsal web page. Rehearsal will be followed by the traditional Champagne & Strawberry Toast for graduates and their families sponsored by the Cal Maritime Alumni Association.

Graduates are welcome to have guests attend commencement. To ensure the best seating is distributed fairly, each graduate will be issued a pair of tickets in the section closest to the stage. A description of this process and the other seating options can be found on the guest's web page.

A member of the Master of Science graduating class will be selected by the class to give the graduate student address. Time allotted for the address will be 3-5 minutes.
