Environmental, Health & Safety Committee
Mission
- The EH&S keeps abreast of laws and regulations governing safety, health and environmental protection, identifies safety issues, develops priorities for consideration by campus administration and ensures that the campus complies with applicable regulatory requirements
- Serves as an advisory group to the campus President and provides a forum for discussion of safety concerns
- Drafts and recommends procedures for educating and training managers, supervisors and employees on environmental, health, and safety requirements
- Conducts annual safety inspections of campus equipment and facilities
The EH&S Committee is chaired by the Director of Facilities Management and the membership is representative of the following constituencies -
Administration and Finance
Academic Affairs
- Academic Senate
- Marine Programs
- Health Center
- Human Resources
- Employee Unions
- Students
Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP)
The IIPP is the campus safety program written and implemented by the EH&S Commitee, and signed and endorsed by the campus President. The plan provides guidance and direction for maintenance of a safe and healthy environment for the campus community.
