Q: When someone is leaving the University, how do they turn in their laptop?

A: The person who has custody of the machine should give his/her laptop to the Help Desk.  At that time, a chain of custody form needs to be completed and signed by IT, which relieves the individual of responsibility for the machine.  The Help Desk will then clean the laptop (removing personal information) before it is reassigned.
