Understanding Suicide

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. and is 2nd for college students ages 18 to 24.

The reasons why someone commits suicide are often complex. However, research shows that 90% of people who die by suicide have a diagnosable psychiatric disorder at the time of their death. Often, these individuals go undiagnosed and therefore untreated.

Yet, suicide is preventable. By learning about suicide prevention and mental health, you can help yourself and those around you live a healthy and happy life.
