Cal Maritime Receives High Grades in U.S. News College Rankings

 
 
(VALLEJO, Calif. – September 9, 2014) – On college campuses, fall means the return of students for a new academic year, and also the return of the rankings of colleges and universities in national publications. California State University's Maritime Academy received high grades for the third consecutive year from U.S. News and World Report's annual college rankings, released today. Cal Maritime is ranked the number one best public college in the western region. In the overall rankings among western regional colleges, Cal Maritime placed third.
 
"We are proud to see Cal Maritime recognized alongside other fine institutions of higher education," said President Tom Cropper. "Our faculty, students, and staff are working together every day to make this fine institution even greater. This presents evidence that the collaboration on campus makes a real difference."
 
Cal Maritime is the only U.S. maritime academy on the Pacific. The unique Cal Maritime program combines classroom learning with applied technology, leadership development and global awareness to prepare students for careers in engineering, transportation, international relations, business, and global logistics.
