Free Maritime-Themed Film Festival Returns to Cal Maritime
(Vallejo, California – February 16, 2017) – From World War II-era classic Lifeboat, directed by Alfred Hitchcock to modern, big-budget blockbuster Deepwater Horizon, Cal Maritime's 2017 installment of the Maritime Film Festival will span many decades, genres, and bodies of water. This year's films include:
March 7:Deepwater Horizon – 2016 disaster film based on true events, starring Mark Wahlberg
March 14:Expedition to the End of the World – true adventure featuring Danish scientists traveling to Greenland aboard a schooner
March 21:Lifeboat – Hitchcock survival-thriller classic set entirely aboard lifeboat
March 28:Song of the Sea – award-winning animated fantasy drama
The Maritime Film Festival is free and open to the public. All movies will be introduced by expert faculty at 7 p.m. in Rizza Auditorium on the campus of Cal Maritime. Free parking will be available in lots A and D. For directions and map of campus, visit www.csum.edu/map.
