VALLEJO, Calif. — Cal Maritime Athletics is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Yacht Club for the 2023 Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup, scheduled for March 10-12 in San Pedro, California. Entering its 15th year of racing, Cal Maritime returns to Southern California as defending two-time champions since it won this event in 2020 and 2022. The competition did not take place in 2021, due to COVID.
Throughout this three-day 10-race event, the host Keelhaulers will face College of Charleston (2019 winner), Navy (2018), Cal Poly, Coast Guard, Hawai'i and Maine Maritime Academy. Queen's University is the first Candian-based team to compete in this event; Maryland and Rhode Island return for their second appearance at this regatta.
These 10 teams will test the challenging waters of the Pacific, racing aboard a fleet of identical Catalina 37s – one-design keelboats utilized in the prestigious Congressional Cup regatta.
