Konnecting Keelhaulers

Many are drawn to Cal Maritime for the hands on curriculum, including required Co-Op or Sea Training II experience, and the high percentage of cadets who obtain employment within six months of graduation. Many cadets are also curious as to what they can do with their Cal Maritime degree years into the future and what different career paths Cal Maritime sets them up for. Because of these interests, Career Services started Konnecting Keelhaulers as a way to bring more career information to prospective and current cadets as well as alums.

Konnecting Keelhaulers conducts interviews with a host of Cal Maritime stakeholders from alums to current cadets to employer partners. We look to draw from a range of career paths and industries to provide the most robust picture possible of  options possible with your Cal Maritime degree. Even more, Konnecting Keelhaulers is a resource to learn about different positions you might not have considered or hear more about the particulars of jobs and careers you are interested in.

Career Services hopes that cadets and alums utilize these interviews as jumping off points to build their professional network and connect with our office to ask further questions. If you have a particular industry or career path you are interested in that hasn't been featured, please reach out to Career Services at careerdevelopment@csum.edu to discuss further.
