Career Development
The career development tuition fee waiver program is intended for eligible faculty
and staff who have applied for, and been accepted as a matriculated student working
toward a degree. An employee may complete more than one degree through the Tuition
Fee Waiver Program.

At the appropriate administrator's discretion, State time may be used to take one
on-campus class per semester (except Unit 8) as long as the operational needs of the
unit are met. The appropriate administrator may also adjust the employee's schedule
to accommodate class attendance or may require that classes be taken during non-work
hours.
Note that you may take a maximum of 120 units towards an undergraduate degree and
you must remain in good academic standing to participate in the tuition fee waiver
program:
- For undergraduates, a GPA of 2.0 or better
- For graduates, a GPA of 3.0 or better
All employees/eligible dependents taking graduate courses are subject to Taxation.
