This morning we picked up the pilot at approximately 0800. We then made our final passage under the Golden Gate. As the excitement grew, we all knew we were less than 2 hours away from home. The tired Bear made her way back to Vallejo and me the tugs outside campus. As they assisted us to the pier, we attached the mooring lines and lowered the gangway. At this point our voyage was complete. For many it was their first time at sea, 45 days is a long time to be away from home. By the end of the trip we completed nearly 6,500nm. We are thankful to be home.

On a personal note, I would like to thank the crew and officers of the Training Ship Golden Bear. It was a pleasure sailing with you all for the past 3 months. I learned a lot about the ship, the industry, and myself. To the families back home, thank you. To the cadets, good luck on your next adventures make Cal Maritime proud.
