CAL MARITIME HOSTING THIRD ANNUAL PEARLS OF POWER CONFERENCE
(VALLEJO, Calif. – February 18, 2013) – Cal Maritime is hosting the third annual POP@Cal Maritime: Pearls of Power Conference on Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1. The event was designed to create opportunities for career exploration, professional development, and networking for our female cadets, alumnae, and women in the maritime and related industries. Women and men from across maritime-related industries are invited to attend.
The conference is free to Cal Maritime students, faculty, staff, and accepted students. Cadets from other maritime academies, alumni, and professionals from the maritime and related industries are invited to register for a fee of $195, which includes all meals (dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch, and tea on Saturday).
Susan Hayman, vice president for health, safety, quality environment and external affairs at Foss Maritime and Frances Keeler, an attorney specializing in maritime law, will be among the presenters. Other workshops will focus on networking, maritime security, internships, leadership opportunities and more.
Sponsored by Cal Maritime, the Pearls of Power Conference will help attendees realize the skills and confidence needed to "pop" in any personal or professional environment.
POP@Cal Maritime will also offer the opportunity for recent graduates to reconnect and forge new relationships with industry professionals.
