Admission Process Deadlines

 

Remaining Fall 2020 Dates

 

June 1 2020 - Extended Admission Deposit Deadline
For all majors except Marine Transportation

Late June, 2020 (Date to be determined) - Fall 2020 Course Online Registration
All new students are pre-enrolled in Fall 2020 courses by the Registrar's Office

July 15, 2020 - Final Transcripts Due
Official final high school transcripts or official spring semester college transcripts are due unless delays due to COVID-19 school closures makes that that impossible.

August date 2020 (Date to be determined) - Fall Student Charges Due
Student charges (via bills sent to student email accounts in late July) are due unless prior arrangements have been made with the Student Accounts Office. Students with financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office to understand how financial aid interacts with campus financial due dates.

August 15, 2020 - Campus Housing Move-In
Campus housing move-in by appointment.

August 15, 2020 - New Student Orientation Begins 
New Student Orientation begins for all students (including those living off-campus)  - All new students must attend all days.

August 16, 2020 - Family Orientation (Parital day only)
Optional Family Orientation (tentative)

August 20, 2020 - Fall Classes Begin
First day of fall classes

August 31 2020 - Last Date to Provide Family Medical Insurance or Purchase School Insurance
Newly enrolling students must prove adequate medical insurance via the Cal Maritime Student Health Center web pate or be required to purchase the Cal Maritime medical insurance 

 

Fall 2021 Admission Process Timeline

 

August 31 - December 17, 2020 - Best Campus Visit Period
Best time for fall semester (on-campus) weekday campus visits if permitted with COVID-19 restrictions at the time.

October 1, 2021 - November 30, 2020 - Time to Apply for Admission to Cal Maritime
The period for all student types to complete Cal Maritime's admission application submitted through www.calstate.edu/apply 

October 1-31, 2020 - "Early Action" Admission Applications may be Submitted
30-day application period for Cal Maritime's Early Action (EA) Program – (Option for freshman applicants only) – All freshman admission applications submitted through www.calstate.edu/apply during this period will receive their admission decision on December 15..

October 1, 2020 - March 2, 2021
Financial Aid Applications (FAFSA) for the fall can be submitted during this period

October 24, 2020 - Preview Day
"Preview Day" Saturday open house for prospective students - Note that this event may be offered in an online mode, on-campus mode, or hybrid model due to COVID-19 directives at the time.

December 15, 2020 - Admission Decisions Sent for "Early Action" Applicants
Decisions will be sent to high school students who applied for admission during the month of October

January 4, 2021 - May 1, 2021
Best time for spring semester weekday campus visits

February 1, 2021
Admission application notifications begin for Freshmen (February 15 for Transfer Students)

April 1, 2021
Priority date to submit health forms and receive a medical review before May 1 if no additional medical information is determined to be necessary. 
The final deadline for health documents is May 1.

April 17, 2021
"Cal Maritime Day" Campus open house for admitted students and families

May 1, 2021
Deadline for admitted students to send Cal Maritime the (non-refundable) $500 enrollment deposit, Admission Acknowledgement Form, health documents, and Housing License Agreement or fall space may not be available

May 15, 2021
"Smart Page" available through MyCalMaritime student portal and PeopleSoft for those required to take Early Start to tell us their plans to do so.

May 31, 2021
Last day to receive any additional SAT or ACT scores to possibly increase scores and remove a students Early Start Program requirement and (if Early Start is required) tell us their plans to take Early Start at any CSU campus (or equivalent remediating courses elsewhere). Cal Maritime's Admission Office will contact those who must participate in the Early Start program by May 15 and give instructions on how to indicate which course(s) each student chooses to fulfill the Early Start requirement.

June 2, 2021
Deadline for those who are required to take Early Start to indicate their chosen method of completing the requirement on their Early Start "Smart Page" via their PeopleSoft Student Services page within their Student Portal.

July 15, 2021
Final transcripts are due from newly enrolling students
