We hope you can take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the California Maritime Academy and tour our training ship. The 500' long GOLDEN BEAR is currently on its two month voyage from our home in Vallejo to Costa Rica, through the Panama Canal to Jamaica, back through the Canal to El Salvador, then Los Angeles before returning to Vallejo. Nearly 300 Cal Maritime students are running the ship while overseen by licensed deck officers and licensed engineers. They also take courses while underway, perform ship maintenance at sea and in port, and have liberty (free-time) in each port.
The visit time on June 25 designated for prospective students and school counselors is 9:00 am - 11:30 am. The visit time designated for students enrolling at Cal Maritime for Fall 2012 is 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Specific directions to the ship's exact berth at the Port of Los Angeles will be e-mailed to all who register (using the form below) about a week before the event.
