Obviously, no one involved in planning for the California Maritime Academy Foundation's 15th Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala could have ever foreseen the difficult circumstances of the last six months on campus and beyond. As we begin our virtual event this week amid the backdrop of a disruption of international proportions, we want you to know how much we appreciate your continuing support for our mission in these uncertain times. As Cal Maritime wraps up a celebration of the 90th Anniversary of its founding, your continued engagement and generosity are vitally important to the success and educational experience of our current cadets as they work to become future alumni. A successful Gala is more than just an opportunity for us to gather, enjoy one another's company, and recognize our alumni, friends, and partners each year. It is a crucial component of the system of support for the Academy and our cadets. The history of Cal Maritime is a study in perseverance and resiliency. Thank you for your legacy of support as we write the next chapter.

This annual event is important not only for recognizing alumni, friends, and corporate partners, but also for the financial support it provides to Cal Maritime cadets. The California Maritime Academy Foundation's 15th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala has been moved to a virtual event due to the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) health guidance. The health and safety of our guests and community is our top priority. This means everyone can participate, no ticket purchase necessary. All proceeds from the event will continue to support student scholarships, and enhance the educational experiences of our cadets. The event will kick-off Saturday morning, March 21st at 12:01am (PST) and will close Sunday evening, April 5th at 8pm (PST).
We have an assortment of items including unique experiences, food/wine/beer, restaurants, vacation homes, art, jewelry, gift baskets, Cal Maritime items, sports tickets and memorabilia.
Your participation in Cal Maritime's Virtual Gala helps our cadets realize their educational goals and opens up a world of opportunity for them. Please feel free to share the event with others.

Money raised during the virtual event will directly support student scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year and will allow our cadets to receive an education that combines intellectual learning, applied technology, leadership development and global awareness. Currently 76% of our cadets rely on this aid.
Your support helps make their education more affordable, and allows them to put their focus where it should be – on their education, not their finances. Last year we raised $54,000 in direct scholarship support. We plan to top that number this year!
