Ahoy!
It's Saturday on TS Golden Bear and we are reporting live from the middle of the Pacific. Well... about half way between California and Hawaii. The weather has been overcast but starting to heat up outside. We are all staying busy and hoping the days fly by! Tomorrow we have a BBQ and Karaoke to look forward to. Otherwise it is business as usual.
Engineers have been busy with sign offs and other maintenance projects.. there is always a leaky pipe that needs fixing around here!
Another great morning for daywork..
And deck practical training on the fantail.
Inspections are never ending!
Part of our classroom rotation for deck cadets includes chart plotting.
Our computer lab has been full these days!
Thanks to all of our cadets on CC duty in the galley.
No explanation necessary...
1/C Cadets are busy with Celestial Navigation. It is best to get it out of the way early in the voyage.. and it helps to work in a group :)
Our Oceanography team has been working hard! Here they are sifting through ocean debris, phytoplankton, and zooplankton. Did you know? Both types of plankton exhibit bioluminescence, which we have seen while on Sea Term. The team will be presenting some of their findings under microscope starting on Monday and we are excited to see what they've collected.
Fair winds and following seas...
