Department of International Business and Logistics
The Department of International Business and Logistics (IBL) offers the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration / International Business and Logistics.
The department also offers two minors to Cal Maritime students, Business Administration and Law.
The mission of the program in Business Administration/International Business and Logistics is to graduate students who are readily employable and highly qualified for further education. Using a practical balance of theoretical knowledge and experiential learning, the degree program prepares students for general management positions in international business as well as careers in the more specialized fields of logistics, transportation management and port operations.
Career Opportunities for Majors
The institution enjoys an excellent reputation among employers; graduates of the business program work primarily, but not exclusively, for global businesses and in the logistics and transportation industries. Recent employers of our graduates include Maersk, C.H. Robinson, General Dynamics, NASSCO, GlobeRunners, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Divine Intermodal, Enterprise, APL, Tokio Marine Insurance and the Ports of Oakland, Seattle and Tacoma.

IBL students interested in careers in the intermodal transportation industry are eligible to apply for the 2021 scholarship from the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA). These scholarships are primarily for juniors and seniors who meet the GPA and needs criteria, and demonstrate their interest in a career in the intermodal industry. The application can be accessed via the Cal Maritime AcademicWorks website . The application deadline is April 19th. Update: Deadline extended until May 3rd!
IBL students interested in careers in the intermodal transportation industry are eligible to apply for significant and possibly renewable scholarships from the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA). Intermodal operators create the most efficient and effective transportation systems using ship, rail, and truck modes. These scholarships are primarily for juniors and seniors who meet the GPA and needs criteria, and demonstrate their interest in a career in the intermodal industry to IANA representatives and Cal Maritime faculty. IBL students are consistently awarded scholarships by Women in Logistics, along with the other scholarships that are available.
