Cal Maritime has been recognized as one of the top 10 public colleges with the best paid graduates, according to CNBC's recent article "You don't need an Ivy League degree to make 6 figures—the 10 public colleges with the best-paid graduates."

CNBC recently compiled a list of top public schools where grads earn the most based on their early career salaries, according to Payscale. Cal Maritime came in at No. 6 on CNBC's list with an early career median salary of  $82,600, and a mid-career median salary of $156,200.

Payscale’s College Salary Report is based on a comprehensive database. This year, their rankings come from the alumni salary data of 3.5 million respondents, representing more than 2,400 colleges and universities across the U.S. The data presented helps prospective students and parents research schools, majors and careers. The information can be used to help discover which fields of study offer the most income potential, as well as which are most transferable to different career paths.
