Summer Internship Program
The purpose of the Summer Internship Program is to integrate classroom studies with academic related work experience. All non-licensed cadets must participate in an Internship as required by their major and are designed for students who have completed two or three years of coursework. Each internship provides a great opportunity to develop the skills leaned in the classroom; while allowing cadets the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture of a company, within their area of focus.
Students participating in the Summer Internship Program include the following majors:
- International Business and Logistics (IBL)
- Global Studies and Maritime Affairs (GSMA)
- Mechanical Engineering (ME)
- Facilities Engineering Technology (FET)
- Oceanography (OCN)
Students are required to register for the Summer Internship (Co-op) course and then attend a workshop that outlines expectations and desired outcomes. Typically, Internships are available between May-August. Career Services staff will provide resources to students in their search to secure and Internship opportunity related to each student's area of interest. For more information and assistance, feel free to contact any one of the below Career Services staff members. You may also book an appointment through The Passport.
