Thank you for your interest in becoming a Community Host!

The Cadet-Community Connection enables members of the Vallejo and surrounding communities to have the opportunity to meet and develop a strong connection with Cal Maritime cadets, as well as to learn more about California State University Maritime Academy.


  • In order to become a Community Host, individuals should fill out the online application and submit it to the Cadet-Community Connection Office. The application process also includes a background check.
  • Accepted Community Hosts are required to attend training prior to being matched with a cadet.
  • Once Community Hosts are approved, the applications of Community Hosts and cadets will be carefully reviewed in order to determine the best possible match based on similar interests.
  • A Meet & Greet Reception will be held during Orientation in the fall at Cal Maritime in order for the Community Hosts and cadets to meet.
