A Capital Project involves the construction, repair, or improvement of campus buildings or grounds. This includes new construction, additions, renovations, renewals, repairs, site development, utility services, extensions and plant improvements, parking facilities, roads, fixed equipment installation and similar projects.

The Department of Facilities Planning, Design & Construction (FPDC) is responsible for all capital projects on the Cal Maritime campus. Funding for capital projects is originated from one of two sources: the State of California via the California State University (CSU) Office of the Chancellor and from Cal Maritime campus sourced revenues including the general operating fund, Enterprise Services funds, and Alumni/donor funds, and various grants.
