Student Billing

Student Financial Services — Billing & Student Refunds

Student Financial Services is responsible for managing the billing and collection of student charges, as well as other campus-related services such as disbursing student refunds, payroll checks, and parking permits.

Viewing Your Student Account

Current Cal Maritime students can view their account summary online. Tuition and fee adjustments can occur through the enrollment process (e.g., adding or dropping classes), by contacting the Cashier’s Office to change a meal plan, or by requesting changes related to housing status (on-campus/off-campus), with proper approval.

Billing Information

Cal Maritime uses Electronic Billing. Billing statements are not mailed.

To view your statement:

  1. Log in to the Transact.

  2. Use your 9-digit CMA Student ID and the last four digits of your Social Security Number.

    • If you do not have a Social Security Number, your password is your birthdate (MMDD format).

  3. Navigate to “Your Account” > “Your Bills”.

Parent/Authorized User Access

To allow a parent or other responsible party to view and receive billing notifications:

  • Set up a Parent PIN under the “Your Account” page.

  • Be sure to enter their email address and check the box to allow billing notifications.

  • Both you and the authorized user will receive an email when a statement is ready.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us at cashier@csum.edu or visit the Cashier’s Office. Thank you for keeping your account current!

Important: A Accounting Hold will remain on your account if balances are past due. A $25 late fee will apply, and services such as registration may be denied until the balance is paid in full.

Fee Disclaimer

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after fees are initially charged or initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees. All listed fees, other than mandatory systemwide fees, are subject to change without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, or the Presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory systemwide fees will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028 - 66028.6 of the Education Code).

Student Refunds

Financial Aid Refunds

Student refund checks are not available for pickup at the Cashier’s Office. If you are not enrolled in direct deposit, a paper refund check will be issued for leftover financial aid funds. However, delivery of checks cannot be guaranteed, and the Student Accounts Office requires:

  • A 2-week waiting period before a check can be reported as "lost"

  • An additional 2 weeks for replacement processing

Direct deposit is highly recommended. To avoid unnecessary refund delays, sign up for Direct Deposit from your Student Center page.
