GMDSS: Global Maritime Distress and Safety System
GMDSS is a maritime communication system that is required to be installed aboard all commercial vessels engaged in ocean service. It is a system of maritime satellite, VHF, HF, and MF frequency communications equipment. The GMDSS simulator mimics that equipment and allows the student to get experience using equipment they will find on merchant vessels.
